Conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, the M.F.A in Media Arts is currently the highest, most advanced, and specialized degree, offered by the university for media artists and developers. It is also the terminal degree required for teacing Media Arts at the college level. <p>This 60 credit degree offers the students hands-on experience with the latest technologies for content creation across multiple disciplines, in 5 concentrations: Film, Video and Screen writing; Computer Graphics, Animation and Interactive Media; Digital Audio and Sound Design; Photography; and Media Management. Using state-of-the-art studios, students have the opportunity to develop their full artistic vision for exhibition and screening using the most advanced techniques and toolsets. Students trained in the above disciplines are employed in the Entertainment, Advertising, Publishing, and Communications industries globally in production and executive levels. <hr> <p> <a name=loc></a> <font class=s3>Location</font> <p> The MFA Program takes advantage of the emergence of downtown Brooklyn as a premiere artistic community and media hub. Situated between Brooklyn Academy of Music, Steiner Studios and Red Hook Pier, our program in an ideal location to establish both a national and global media presence. In addition, this gives students opportunities to <hr><p> <a name=int></a> <font class=s3>Internships</font> <p> The MFA has an excellent internship program, administered by an internship coordinator and assistant coordinator helping students find informative internships, which often lead to full-time employment. We also work closely with LIU's on-campus Office of Career Services to help them with job placement.
